Discord Community Reactivation Plan #
The purpose of this plan is to rebuild regular activity throughout the Rogue Soldiers Discord by giving members clear reasons to return, making it easier to find people to play with, and creating dependable weekly activities.
This plan does not involve removing inactive members or deleting inactive channels. Instead, staff will use the community, channels, teams, and game roles that already exist more effectively.
The plan covers:
- 7 Days to Die
- Ardem
- BattleBit: Remastered
- Battlefield 6
- Gray Zone Warfare
- Hell Let Loose: Vietnam
- Star Citizen
- WARDOGS
- General Rogue Soldiers clan activities
Main Goal #
The main goal is to make Rogue Soldiers feel like an active gaming community again.
Members should be able to enter the Discord and quickly understand:
- What games people are currently playing.
- What activities are happening this week.
- Where they should join.
- Who can help them get started.
- Which upcoming games the clan is preparing for.
The community does not need every channel to be active every day. It needs a dependable flow of activities, conversations, public voice participation, and personal invitations.
Community Reactivation Strategy #
The reactivation plan should focus on three areas at the same time.
| Area | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Current Games | Give members regular activities they can join immediately. |
| Upcoming Games | Build organized groups before Ardem, Hell Let Loose: Vietnam, and WARDOGS become fully available. |
| Clan Community | Reconnect inactive members, welcome new members, and create relationships that continue across different games. |
Current games should keep the Discord active now. Upcoming games should create excitement and bring members back. General clan activities should help members remain connected even when they are between games.
How Staff Teams Support the Plan #
The existing staff subroles should be used for their intended purposes. The Events Team should handle event planning and coordination. Other teams should support the activity instead of duplicating that responsibility.
| Team | How It Supports Community Activity |
|---|---|
| Events Team | Plans, schedules, announces, coordinates, and helps run official community activities. https://rsclan.gg/wiki/tools-and-admin/creating-events/ |
| Game Admin Teams | Provide game knowledge, server information, rules, access, and support for Events Team activities. |
| Sherpa Teams | Help new, inexperienced, and returning players participate successfully. |
| Retention Team | Reconnects inactive clan members and personally invites them to relevant activities. |
| Community Recruitment Team | Brings new players into the Discord and introduces them to active groups. |
| News & Social Team | Promotes upcoming activities and shares results, screenshots, clips, and community progress. |
| Project Manager | Coordinates the overall reactivation campaign and keeps the different teams working toward the same goals. |
| Support, Tech, Web Admin, and Whitelist Teams | Remove technical, access, website, role, and server barriers that prevent members from participating. |
| Accountability Team | Follows up when an assigned activity or responsibility is repeatedly being neglected. |
| Staff Recruitment Team | Helps fill staff or team gaps when the community lacks enough active hosts, Sherpas, or game support. |
Senior Admins, Admins, and Moderators should support these teams, participate visibly, and help members when available. They should not replace the Events Team by separately planning unrelated events.
Simple Weekly Activity Schedule #
The Discord should have a predictable weekly rhythm. Members are more likely to participate when they know when schedules are posted and when activities normally happen.
| Day | Community Activity |
|---|---|
| Monday | The Events Team posts the weekly schedule and confirms the hosts, games, times, and voice channels. |
| Tuesday and Wednesday | Game teams start conversations, Sherpas help members prepare, and Retention or Recruitment staff send personal invitations. |
| Thursday through Saturday | The main gaming activities take place. |
| Sunday | Staff post short recaps, screenshots, results, and questions about what members want to do next. |
A good starting point is:
- Two organized game activities each week.
- One casual, beginner, or general clan activity each week.
- One weekly schedule instead of several unrelated announcements.
The schedule should remain manageable. Too many events will divide attendance and cause staff and members to lose interest.
Standard Event Procedure #
The Events Team should use a simple process for official activities.
Before the event:
- Choose the game and activity.
- Confirm a host and backup host.
- Contact the relevant Game Admin Team or experienced players.
- Arrange Sherpa support when the event is beginner-friendly.
- Choose the date, time, and voice channel.
- Create the Discord Event and announcement.
- Ask Retention and Community Recruitment staff to invite relevant members.
The event announcement should clearly state:
- The game.
- The date and time.
- What the group will be doing.
- Whether new players are welcome.
- Whether anything must be installed or prepared.
- Where members should meet.
- Who is hosting.
During the event:
- Welcome members as they arrive.
- Explain the activity before starting.
- Organize players into squads, parties, crews, or fireteams.
- Place new players with Sherpas or patient experienced members.
- Help late arrivals find the group.
- Use public community voice channels whenever practical.
After the event:
- Thank everyone who participated.
- Post a screenshot, clip, result, or short recap.
- Ask whether members want the event repeated.
- Invite first-time participants to the next activity.
- Schedule another session if the group wants to continue.
Use the Three Upcoming Games to Rebuild Interest #
Ardem, Hell Let Loose: Vietnam, and WARDOGS give Rogue Soldiers three major opportunities to bring inactive members back and attract new members.
Staff should not wait until release day or a playtest begins. The communities for these games should be built beforehand.
| Stage | What Staff Should Do |
|---|---|
| Before Access | Create interest polls, identify players, discuss roles, and determine availability. |
| One Week Before | Create the first event, confirm hosts, prepare guides, and organize groups. |
| Launch or Playtest Day | Open public voice channels, help members get started, and organize the first squads or groups. |
| First Week | Run several accessible sessions while interest is highest. |
| After the First Week | Establish one or two recurring weekly activities based on actual participation. |
The launch campaign should be organized by the Events Team with support from the relevant Game Admin Team, Sherpa Team, Retention Team, Community Recruitment Team, and News & Social Team.
Ardem Activation Plan #
Ardem should be used to reconnect survival-game players and members interested in exploration, base building, and persistent community servers.
Before the next playable period:
- Create an Ardem interest poll.
- Ask members whether they have requested access.
- Ask which days they expect to be available.
- Identify members interested in building, exploration, gathering, security, and logistics.
- Create a Discord Event for the first organized session.
- Prepare simple information explaining how members can participate.
During playable periods, the Events Team and Ardem Admin Team can organize:
- Community start sessions.
- Exploration groups.
- Resource-gathering groups.
- Base-building projects.
- New-player assistance.
- Community feedback discussions.
The Ardem Sherpa Team should help unfamiliar players understand the game and join existing groups.
Hell Let Loose: Vietnam Activation Plan #
Hell Let Loose: Vietnam should be used to reconnect Hell Let Loose players, tactical shooter players, and members interested in organized teamwork.
Before release:
- Create an interest and availability poll.
- Identify potential Squad Leaders and Commanders.
- Ask members which infantry, armor, logistics, reconnaissance, or support roles interest them.
- Use the original Hell Let Loose for optional training nights.
- Prepare simple beginner information.
- Create squads before launch instead of organizing everyone at the last minute.
During launch week, the Events Team and Hell Let Loose Admin Team should organize:
- A launch-day or launch-weekend event.
- Beginner infantry sessions.
- Organized squad nights.
- Armor crew sessions.
- Squad Leader and logistics training.
The Hell Let Loose Sherpa Team should be present during beginner sessions to explain communication, supplies, spawn points, squad roles, and other important mechanics.
WARDOGS Activation Plan #
WARDOGS should be used to bring together members from Battlefield, BattleBit, Hell Let Loose, and other tactical or combined-arms games.
Before wider access:
- Create a WARDOGS interest group.
- Share verified access and playtest information.
- Ask members which infantry, vehicle, logistics, support, or leadership roles interest them.
- Identify potential squad leaders.
- Use related tactical games to allow interested players to meet each other.
When access becomes available, organize:
- First-look community sessions.
- Infantry squads.
- Vehicle crews.
- Combined-arms groups.
- New-player assistance.
- Feedback and after-action discussions.
The WARDOGS Sherpa Team should help new players understand the game as information and experience become available.
Keep Current Games Active #
The upcoming games should create excitement, but current games are needed to keep the Discord active while members wait.
| Game | Recommended Activities |
|---|---|
| 7 Days to Die | Blood Moon events, new-player nights, POI raids, community builds, trader groups, server projects, and reset events. |
| BattleBit: Remastered | Conquest nights, organized squads, vehicle crews, class challenges, and returning-player sessions. |
| Battlefield 6 | Conquest, Breakthrough, Portal activities, armor crews, squad nights, and class challenges. |
| Gray Zone Warfare | Task assistance, key-sharing runs, recovery missions, PvE groups, and organized PvP operations. |
| Star Citizen | Bounty hunting, salvage, mining, cargo convoys, bunker missions, ship crews, and new-player orientation. |
Make 7 Days to Die a Regular Activity Center #
7 Days to Die should be one of the easiest games to use for consistent activity because Rogue Soldiers operates a persistent server and members can contribute over a long period.
The Events Team, 7 Days to Die Admin, and 7 Days to Die Sherpa Team should establish recurring activities such as:
- A scheduled Blood Moon event.
- A weekly new-player or returning-player night.
- A community building project.
- A high-tier POI raid.
- A trader quest group.
- A vehicle convoy or exploration event.
- A building competition.
The News & Social Team should regularly show screenshots of bases, community projects, Blood Moon results, unusual encounters, and player accomplishments.
Visible server progress can encourage inactive members to return because they can see that something is happening without having to ask.
Personally Reconnect Inactive Members #
Announcements alone will not bring everyone back. The Retention Team should personally invite members who previously participated in specific games.
Members who may be contacted include:
- Former event participants.
- Former server regulars.
- Members who previously played one of the supported games.
- Members who reacted to old announcements.
- Members who joined one activity but did not return.
- Members who may be interested in one of the upcoming games.
Outreach should mention a real activity:
Hey, we are starting regular activity for [game] again. We have a session planned for [day and time], and I remembered that you played it with us before. You are welcome to join us if you are available.
Staff should not pressure members to explain their absence or suggest that their membership is at risk.
Turn New Members into Active Members #
Community Recruitment, Support, Sherpas, and available Moderators should help new members make an immediate connection.
During a new member’s first week:
- Welcome them personally.
- Ask which games they play.
- Give them the correct game roles.
- Introduce them to an appropriate Sherpa or regular player.
- Invite them to a specific upcoming activity.
- Help them join a public voice channel or group.
New members should not only be told to browse the Discord. They should be directed toward a real person or activity.
Respond to Looking-for-Group Requests #
An unanswered looking-for-group request makes the Discord appear inactive.
When a member asks for people to play with:
- A relevant Sherpa, Game Admin, Moderator, or regular player should acknowledge the request when possible.
- If no one can join immediately, tell the member about the next scheduled activity.
- Contact a small number of relevant members instead of mass pinging the server.
- Move interested players into a public voice channel.
- If the same game receives repeated requests, the Events Team should schedule an activity for it.
Use Public Voice Channels #
Members are more likely to join when they can see people already playing.
Staff and regular players should:
- Use public game voice channels whenever practical.
- Avoid spending all gaming time in private staff channels.
- Welcome members who join an active channel.
- Invite text-chat participants into voice when a group forms.
- Use clear channel names when temporary channels are created.
A visible group of three or four people in voice can attract more activity than several announcements.
Use Existing Channels More Effectively #
Inactive channels should remain available, but their purpose should be clear.
Each game channel should show:
- What the channel is used for.
- Which Admin or Sherpa Team supports the game.
- How members can find a group.
- Where server or access information is located.
- Where upcoming events will be announced.
Threads may be used for temporary event planning, squad assignments, playtest feedback, missions, or community projects.
Promote Activity Without Spamming #
The News & Social Team should make activity visible without flooding members with repeated announcements.
Useful posts include:
- A single weekly activity schedule.
- One reminder before a major event.
- Event screenshots and clips.
- Community project updates.
- Launch and playtest information.
- Member and Sherpa recognition.
- Short event recaps.
Members are more likely to join when they can see that other people participated and had a good time.
Encourage Members to Host Activities #
The community should not remain completely dependent on staff.
When a regular member repeatedly organizes groups or helps others, staff should:
- Recognize their contribution.
- Ask whether they would like to host a casual activity.
- Allow the Events Team to help them schedule and promote it.
- Provide staff or Sherpa support when needed.
A member does not need to become staff before they can help create community activity.
What to Measure #
The Project Manager and leadership should review a small number of useful measurements each month.
| Measurement | What It Shows |
|---|---|
| Unique participants | How many different members are becoming involved. |
| Returning participants | Whether members enjoyed activities enough to return. |
| First-time participants | Whether new and inactive members are being reached. |
| Event attendance | Which games, times, and activities are working. |
| Looking-for-group responses | Whether members can find people to play with. |
| Member-hosted groups | Whether activity is becoming less dependent on staff. |
Total message counts should not be the main measurement. A few people can create many messages without building a larger active community.
First 30 Days #
- The Project Manager and Events Team create the first four-week activity schedule.
- Post a poll asking which games members currently play or plan to play.
- Ask members which days and times normally work for them.
- Select two current games for dependable weekly activities.
- Create interest groups for Ardem, Hell Let Loose: Vietnam, and WARDOGS.
- Run at least one beginner-friendly event with Sherpa support.
- Have the Retention Team personally invite former participants.
- Have the Community Recruitment Team introduce new members to active groups.
- Post event recaps and screenshots each week.
- Review attendance at the end of the month and adjust the next schedule.
What Staff Should Avoid #
- Do not repeatedly mass ping members.
- Do not announce events without a confirmed host.
- Do not schedule more activities than staff can properly support.
- Do not shame members for being inactive.
- Do not expect members to create activity while staff remain invisible.
- Do not leave new players alone without guidance.
- Do not abandon a game after one poorly attended event.
- Do not rely on giveaways as the main source of participation.
- Do not promise servers, access, or plans that have not been confirmed.
- Do not make Admins duplicate work already assigned to the Events Team.
Final Standard #
Rogue Soldiers will become active again by giving members clear opportunities to play, personally inviting people back, helping new players participate, and using upcoming games to create renewed excitement.
The Events Team should organize activities. Game Admin Teams should provide game and server support. Sherpas should help players participate. Retention should reconnect existing members. Community Recruitment should introduce new players. News & Social should make the activity visible.
The plan is working when members can enter the Discord, see something happening, find people to play with, and feel welcome joining the group.
