Running dedicated servers, monitoring, automation, moderation tools, web services, and game infrastructure costs money. VIP and supporter programs help [RS] offset those costs while giving participating members extra recognition and perks across the community.
VIP is intended to support community infrastructure—not to turn [RS] into a pay-to-win environment. Perks can vary by game and service depending on what each title allows and what can be offered fairly.
